What Should a Professional Landscaper know? How Reliable is His/Her Firm?
A landscaper must know which plants will work best in your yard based on the soil type, exposure to the sun, and other climate/environmental conditions. A complete professional landscaper will also have hardscape design/construction knowledge and be able to explain to you in simple English how to best maintain your landscaping.
You should also determine that the company he/she works for, or owns, is licensed and insured. These are signs that the landscaper is working for and/or is the owner of a bonded legitimate firm who will be there to stand behind their work. Also important to ask is how long has the firm been in business. The longer in business the more established the firm. Long established firms will be more invested in their reputation and likely to do whatever they can to make you happy!
